I checked out the visitor center area of the Hayward
shoreline on Saturday evening and found it packed with
humans as well as shorebirds. This area is quickly
becoming my favorite for photography at lower tides
due to the resident birds' habituation to humans. I
pretty much saw the usual suspects, mostly WILLETS and
AVOCETS, although I didn't see any stilts at all,
which was a little surprising. They must have been
hanging out somewhere else. A NORTHERN HARRIER
patrolled the area regularly. No peregrines or more
    exotic fare were seen.

    Anyway, some photos are at
http://www.pbase.com/zeiler/new . Please let me know
if I have ID'd the lesser yellowlegs correctly...
    thanks for looking.
