I'm new to EBB. Hope that the sightings I report are not too common. Let me know, thanks.

This morning at Robert Crown State Beach in Alameda I spotted a group of about 20 Western Sandpipers - near an old clubhouse & all the concrete barriers. Also, on the small pond there were a pr of American Wigeons, a female Hooded Merganser, an Eared & a Pied-billed Grebe along w/ the Snowy Egrets, Mallards & a DC Cormorant. There were several Eared Grebe in the bay as well.

Later in the day I was down in Fremont, so I went to a new place for me - Alameda Creek. At the end of "I" St. (city of Fremont) on the creek I saw several pr of Gadwall, 5 American White Pelicans, many Coot & more than 50 Common Mergansers. When I returned home, I spotted what may be a fledgling C.Merganser off in the corner of one of my photos. I'll try to go again tomorrow & verify.
