On Oct.25 at low tide at the Emeryville Cresent, on the rocks along the
eastern end of Powell ( before the freeway).
Along with a flock of Black Turnstones was one greyish bird with white
undersides, short dark beak, shortish yellow legs, scurrying and feeding around and
over the exposed rocks . It didn't look like anything I had seen here in the
past. Could it have been a Surfbird?
The other shore birds in abundance further away in the mud and water were the
usual Whimbrels, Willets, Sand pipers, Longbilled Curlews, Godwits, Dunlins
