    Flamingoes have been seen around the South Bay for quite a while. But  
    these have usually been IDed as Chilean Flamingo. Was the Coyote  
    Hills bird definitely a Greater Flamingo? I have a distant photo of a  
    group from Salt Pond 18 in the Alviso/Milpitas area from 1996 on my  
    website . You can see from  
    the HTML page name that I originally thought they were Greather  
    Flamingoes. I enlarged the birds and some of the details are better  
    illustrated.
