    Hi all,
If Alan has a map without Los Vaqueros then it is a
good time to get a new one since it must be about a
    decade old by now!
The north end of Los Vaqueros Res. is at the south end
of Walnut Blvd. off of Camino Diablo, just west of
Byron. The (steep) fee, the last time I was there, was
    $6 or $7.
The south end is reached from Vasco Rd. just north of
Livermore. Near the kiosk you enter Contra Costa
    County.
You can only get from one end to the other via boat or
    a long walk.
This is a good area for Bald Eagles and Osprey in
winter and wintering Lewis's appear to be present with
some frequency, the only such area in the county.
    Good luck,
    Steve Glover
    Dublin
