    Hi all,

Following up on Art Edwards' post from yesterday, I headed out east of
Livermore to look for the Swainson's Hawks (SWHA) this afternoon. There were around
50 still at Herndlyn Rd., and many more than the 6+ Gr. Blue Herons reported
yesterday. Also a good number of Com. Ravens in the mix. They were all
feeding on some type of small rodents.

But before I even got to that location, I found another flock of SWHAs (40+
birds) along the Byron Highway (J-4), just west of the junction with Lindemann
    Rd.

For those who keep track of such things, the Herndlyn birds were in Contra
Costa County, and the J-4 birds were in Alameda County.

    Good birding,
    Kathy Robertson
