    East Bay Birders,
It's been a long time coming but finally we have a visual of the
Cooper's Hawk chick. This evening I was looking at the nest high in our
backyard tree and saw a small downy chick standing precariously on the
edge of the nest. It's pretty windy out here tonight so I was afraid the
chick was about to topple out of the nest. So far so good. Don't know
how many chicks are in the nest but at least one.
It's been a real treat watching the comings and goings of the adults and
watching their behavior. I know where the male plucks his prey and calls
to the female to retrieve the catch and where he sits and waits out the
    afternoons.
    Good birding.
