[EBB Sightings] Budgerigar Parakeet

About 4PM on Sunday at the North end of the Hayward Regional Shoreline, Cathy 
and I were quite surprise when a bright green Budgerigar Parakeet suddenly 
rose up from the dirt trail directly in front of us, circled once, then landed 
again almost in the same spot only 5 feet away from where we were standing. Can 
anyone clue me in on how common parakeet sightings are in the bay area?

To go to the location of this sighting, enter the Hayward Regional Shoreline 
at the North end via Grant Avenue. Walk from the parking lot out to the trail 
that runs along the bay, turn right (north) on this trail and proceed across 
the San Lorenzo Creek bridge, then take a left followed by a quick right and 
start looking as soon as you enter the marsh.
