Yesterday John Harris and I found a Chilean Flamingo standing in a
evaporative pond on the east side of Turk Island. Obviously an escaped
bird but neat to see none the less.
John and I have been surveying this area about 4 years for SFBBO and the
main colony of nesting Forster's Terns are not at their traditional
site. This colony usually numbers approx 300 birds with 150 nests. We
found very few nesting American Avocets or Black-necked Stilts as
compared to years past. Other birds of note where two male Canvasbacks.

    Good birding.
