    Sunday 5/15 afternoon visit to the berkeley botanical gardens saw the
    season regulars including selasphorus hummer, pacific-slope flycatcher, oak
    titmouse, cb chickadee, spotted towhee, rb nuthatch, bewick's wren, and the
    glorious hooded orioles.
    
    Highlight:  Phainopepla.  He was on the tall palm furthest to the south,
    perched on the ring of dead fronds that circle its trunk.  He stayed in
    place for ample viewing: shiny black feathers, spiky crest, red eyes
