    Rock
watched a Juvenile Peregrine Falcon in the sand stone cliff of Castle
    Rock in Walnut Creek.
Pine Creek Canyon about 1.5 to 2 miles.  This trail has a major
fork just below the earthen dam--take the left fork that parallels the
old dam site. Stay on the main trail until after the 2nd stream
crossing.  Walk onto the grassy knoll to the right (west) of the
trail for the best viewing of the nest. (There is a convenient log to
sit on and the grass is very short and still green).  The
Peregrine nest is in a large square cave jut below the furthest ridge
directly opposite (east) of the grassy knoll.  To find the Great
Horned Owl's nest, look at the slopping ridge in  front of the
ridge with the peregrine nest.  Follow the top of this ridge
about 100 feet to the left (it slopes down) until you see a small cave
with a stick nest.  The owls were in view off and on so be
    patient.
Bluebirds near the developed picnic areas at the beginning of the
trail.  I've always seen a good assortment of raptors fly
    overhead.
Valley road to Walnut Ave. and then onto Castle Rock Road (at
the rotunda) to the end. (Do not take the earlier Walnut BLVD. which
is before Heather Farms Park--Walnut AVE. is after this park)
