    Dear Birders,
I observed the bird from 4:15-4:30 p.m. today singing from the top of
a Sycamore on the Meyer Ranch Trail about 1/8 mile from the trailhead
at the end of Tamarack Dr. Unfortunately, it flew when some people
walked noisily down the trail. I couldn't refind it and a couple of
hours later, when I left the park, it was still nowhere to be found.
The spot where I saw it is marked by two Sycamore trunks that hang
down and touch the ground, on the right side of the trail.
This entrance to the park is reached by taking the Whipple Ave. exit
from 880 and going east to the end. Turn left on Mission and right on
    Tamarack.
There were a couple of singing LAZULIs farther down the trail. I also
observed a California/Common Kingsnake on the upper reaches of the
    trail.
    Good birding,
    Emily Serkin
