A pair of Spotted Sandpipers was observed copulating ~11 AM today at San =
Pablo Reservoir. The birds had been observed feeding together for about =
15 minutes prior to copulating. =20

According to the Bird of North America account, Spotted Sandpipers =
arrive on their nesting grounds unpaired and form pairs thereafter. So =
it looks like another breeding record for San Pablo Reservoir.

Denise Wight just told me that she had a single bird at San Leandro =
    Reservoir this morning. Interesting.
