    Birders,

We spotted the FRANKLIN'S GULL sitting on one of the floating
cylindrical booms as soon as we arrived at Lake Merritt this morning at
9:10. At 10:45 we had the TUFTED DUCK in with the scaups. In between we
birded in and around the Garden Center and had WILSON'S WARBLER,
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, WARBLING VIREO, and PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER,
    but unfortunately no chat.
