[EBB Sightings] Berkeley Summer Tanager

On Tuesday my son, Chris, sighted and photographed a
female summer tanager at our seed feeder in the back
yard.

My first thought, of course, was that it was a
western.  But after stuyding the pictures closely and
sending them to several East Bay Birders, the
unanimous ID is summer tanager.

It's a nice addition to our yard list.

BTW, we still have half a dozen golden crowns and a
couple of white crowns - now in beautiful alternate
plumage.
