Very pleasant morning by the lake, partly sunny and no rain despite the
forecasts. The species count is heading downward - only 30 in the count
    - but the dancing Snowy and Great Egrets were well worth the trip.
Highlight was the Sharp-Shinned Hawk that let us walk all round the tree
he was sitting in, close enough to decide he wasn't one of the lake's
Coopers Hawks despite being near the territory where they've nested in
past years. Both the Greater White-Fronted Goose and the Surf Scoter
were swimming near the islands at the bird sanctuary, as was the female
    Tufted Duck.
