We saw our first group of wild turkeys in Canyon Lakes Country Club (off
Bollinger Canyon Road and Alcosta Boulevard) here in San Ramon recently.
Four young males were spotted walking slowly across a subdivision street
last Wednesday morning (3/9) just outside the fence from the golf course =
and
five were seen on Saturday (3/12) on a cul-de-sac =BD block from our =
house in
Canyon Lakes South.  We have lived here since 1992 and never expected to =
see
them because we have no woods to speak of, only dry hills and an old =
ranch
behind us.  The nearest large grove of trees is about =BD mile away as =
the
crow flies.=20
