Well this is a little off topic...A little predatory pressure on the deer
would be a welcome thing here in El Cerrito. It seems that the abundance of both
deer and turkeys indicates that what predatory pressure there is is
insignificant indeed. Ok then back to turkeys... I see flocks of them along the big
highways as well Rt. 4 Between Hercules and Martinez and along 24 around Orinda
and east bound. Plain as day and often. Its one of those "What the..." moments
as the numbers in the groups 6+. The "what the" part is for the numbers in the
groups, not that there are turkeys themselves. Or that you see them so
plainly. On the east coast the Canada Geese problem got the same reaction from me.
The flocks are huge. And have become a major traffic hazard on the highways.
They will group in huge numbers in the median strips and decide to take off
across the highway at their low angles of lift off. And whamo! horrible carnage for
    the geese and human alike.
