    Hi East Bay birders,
I've been away on a 4 day business trip and awoke to the Copper's Hawks
calling at daybreak. I went out on the deck to find it covered in twigs
and sticks, I think they drop more nesting material than they actually
get into the nest. Both adults made frequent trips to neighborhood trees
collecting twigs. I counted 12 trips by each adult in the span of 40
minutes. It is easy to see the size different between the male and
female when you get the chance to see them together. The normally
skittish birds don't seem to notice anything while they work on the
nest. This nest building activity continues all morning with little or
no activity the remainder of the day.

    Good birding.
