[EBB Sightings] Backyard Rufous

EastBayBirders,

We've been hoping the Allen's Hummingbird guarding a flowering 
eucalyptus down the street would visit our backyard feeder. He hasn't. 
But yesterday afternoon a RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD, a new addition to our 
yard list and a lifer for Skip, showed up and spent several minutes 
loading up on sugar water before continuing on his way. Pat wondered 
what would have happened if our resident Anna's Hummingbird had been 
here at the time -- a home territory male Anna's versus the famously 
aggressive Rufous!
