[EBB Sightings] turkeys in Martinez, too

I've lived in Alhambra Valley for 30 years, literally on the edge of 
civilization, and have not seen or heard a single turkey until this past 
year.  And now, there is a flock of at least 40 above my house in a 
gully surrounded by live oak and bay trees, as reported by one of the 
recent birders on this list.

The question is: Why so many turkeys all of a sudden?  Does anyone have 
a theory?
