[EBB Sightings] Notes from Far East Contra Costa

I drove around my Oakley (and surrounding) neighborhoods and had some nice
looks (see list below, but I also saw something that greatly disturbed me.
Near the Marsh Creek Reservoir, there were 2 coyotes impaled on a rancher's
fence. I thought this barbaric act had gone the way of the Passenger
Pigeon. I'm sure it must be illegal. Too bad I haven't purchased one of
those digital cameras. I would like to send some pics to Fish & Game.
Mr Glover, I know you get out there quite a bit, have you seen this?
At Holland track: an adult Ferruginous Hawk being hassled by several Red
Tails
12+ Sandhill cranes on the wing
Several Common Moorhens, and pied-billed grebes
At Clifton Court Forebay:
Ruddy, Goldeneye, Scaup
