I stopped by Aquatic Park in Berkeley today (10 AM) hoping the Hooded 
Merganser pair had returned this year. Alas, they haven't. But there were 29 
Black-Crowned Night Herons in the southern most pond. 12 post that cross the 
eastern end were all occupied by Herons, as well as the ground nearby and 
the adjacent willows on the north side.
