    Hi all:

We've had a Slate-colored Junco in the neighborhood
stopping off at the feeder for the last 3 weeks. Amy
finally got to see it this a.m. Life sub-species for
    her. Cool-looking bird.

Yesterday (12-11), I walked from 80/Powell west to
Waterfront Park at high tide. Halfway out, there were
    approx. 250 shorebirds huddled in a 400 sq-ft area,
consisting of approx. 200 Willets, 20 Marbled
Godwits,6 Black Turnstones, 9 Whimbrel, and one
Surfbird. A Spotted Sandpiper worked the exposed sand
adjacent to Chevy's. "Guac this way" isn't really
doing it for me. Maybe it works for them? (Chevy's,
    not the Sandpiper).

    Good birding,
