The GGAS trip to Redwood Regional Park ended with a surprise this morning. At the very end, White-fronted Geese flew overhead, shrouded in fog. No idea how many, but from the sound I'd say a dozen minimum, and perhaps twice that many.

It was overall a rather quiet trip, as Redwood is wont to be in December. We did get great looks at several Varied Thrush. A decent number (ten at least?) of Golden-crowned Kinglets high in the Redwoods as well as good sized flocks of Pine Siskins careening about. This trip might be improved were we to ride in the gondola of a large balloon and look down on the tree tops. I shall approach Susan Groves about this.
