[EBB Sightings] Do Egrets Do That?

 From the deck at the Monterey Aquarium this afternoon, I watched a 
great egret land on a floating kelp bed and proceed to fish from there 
with perfect aplomb while the kelp bobbed up and down on the surface. Is 
this common practice for the species? I'd never seen it before....
