    Birders,
    
    This morning, at Miller/Knox 
    Regional Shoreline in Richmond, 
    there was a SLATE-COLORED DARK-EYED 
    JUNCO and a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW. 
    Both birds were in a mixed flock of 
    Juncos and Crowned Sparrows that 
    was foraging beneath the pine trees 
    adjacent to the first parking lot 
    on the right after you come through 
    the tunnel.
    
    This is a terrific park for 
    studying birds.  With open lawns, 
    trees, shrubs, and a large pond, it 
    attracts a wide variety of birds 
    that are somewhat acclimated to 
    human activity.
