    Hi Everyone--

I walked around the Winton Avenue section of Hayward Regional Shoreline this
morning 11/13. North of the more northerly trail, in the bulldozed section,
many KILLDEER and LEAST SANDPIPERS, and a few WESTERN SANDPIPERS, were
roosting around rain puddles. Around 10:45am, one CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPUR
noisily flew in to bathe. It fluffed and preened itself dry, showing off its
tail nicely (black triangle). It stayed for 10 minutes or so, then flew
south. A BURROWING OWL was in brush along the narrow lined channel maybe 400
yards from the parking lot. A PRAIRIE FALCON sat up on one of the radio
towers. A check of the interpretive center turned up Brewer's Blackbirds,
but no grackles. Since people were asking about earlier McCown's Longspur
sightings, I'll mention that saw my lifer near the radio towers on 18th
October 1986. I saw a Purple Gallinule in Fremont (Elizabeth Park) the same
    day.

In Pleasanton, eight WHITE-THROATED SWIFTS were wheeling over my apartment
as I walked out to the car around 9am.
