[EBB Sightings] Curly corvid

I have also had a curve-billed jay in my garden this year, but it was a
scrub jay. I watched it feed, and it wasn't a pretty sight. It was also
unable to preen properly, the obvious evidence for this being the ratty
state of its feathers. Prognosis poor, even tho these are intelligent
birds w/flexible behavior. It's really sad watching these birds try and
hammer food like a normal jay. An Alaskan researcher has found entire
populations of chickadees with these bill deformities. Canary in the
coal mine, indeed.
