[EBB Sightings] Green Heron at Lake Merritt

First one I've ever seen there. He was sitting on the second island back 
in the bird sanctuary, near the nature center. The rangers said he's 
been there off and on for about a week - plus the usual suspects (great 
and snowy egrets, great blue herons, black-crowned night herons, 
double-crested cormorants, and so on and so on). The cattle egret is 
said to be back, too, but I haven't seen him.

The winter migrants are just starting to arrive - ruddy ducks, a few 
scaups, some grebes....
