I have been hanging on to this Fresno Bird sighting ~ wondering if I
should post it here locally on our east bay site.
Soooooooooo since there seems to be some level of interest in Coopers
    Hawks locally.
For sure here in Pleasanton they can be seen daily.
And as well the Golden Gate Raptor Observatory East Bay Cooper's Hawk
Nesting Survey the last two or three years.
Add in all the interest of local East Bay Burrowing Owl populations and
potential listing as a endanger species.
Please read this interaction between a Coopers Hawks and a Burrowing Owl
    .
    Regards and good night

    Greetings -

Near the town of Goshen, on Sept. 29, 2004, I saw a
Burrowing Owl being attacked and finally killed from
what looked like a Cooper's Hawk. During the air
battle, the Burrowing Owl was injured in the back by
the Cooper's Hawk and hence weakened. When the
Cooper's Hawk dive-bombed the Burrowing Owl again, it
was all over - the hawk had the owl in its talons. I
cannot imagine that there's a lot of meat on a
    Burrowing Owl...
