On Sunday morning at 10:30 an immature phalarope was swimming on Jewel
Lake in Tilden Regional Park. I have not had much experience assigning
immatures to species, but this bird's bold black cap and eye patch and
and boldly striped brown back seemed pretty clearly to make it
Red-necked.
